The Victorian Government's decision to return Lake Mokoan to a natural
wetland will make available 44,000 megalitres of water to improve
river health.
As part of the project, a Mid-Murray storage system will be reintroduced.
This will enable 19,000 ML of environmental flows to be returned
to the Snowy River annually.
The Mid-Murray Storage Project will increase the use of existing
storage facilities at Lake Boga, Lake Charm and Kangaroo Lake
creating recreation, tourism and environmental benefits for the
region.
