Project  Control Board

The Project Control Board comprises four members from the three agencies delivering the Mokoan - return to wetland project. The board provides strategic guidance for the project in the form of advice and direction. Members of the Project Control Board are:

Project Team
The Mid-Murray Storage Project Team comprises staff members from the Department of Sustainability and Environment and Goulburn-Murray Water. The Project Team is responsible for carrying out the work to meet project objectives

The Mokoan - return to wetland project is a diverse and complex, multi-agency project. The Project Control Board appointed David Jeffery as the Project Director. His role is to coordinate all agencies to ensure the effective delivery of the Government's decision and commitments in relation to the Mokoan Project.

David has 28 years experience in the rural water industry across Victoria in positions with the State River and Water Supply Commission, Rural Water Commission, Goulburn-Murray Water including management of operation, maintenance and refurbishment of major water storages in the Wimmera Mallee and Murray systems, major project and program management, major dam construction, water supply investigations, urban and rural water supply engineering.

Paul Lloyd, Senior Project officer, Department of Sustainability and Environment. 

Bachelor of Science (Hons), Master of Natural Resources

Paul Lloyd provides coordination and technical assistance to the Project Team. This includes technical support for planning for the ecological management of the project and implementation of the Lake Mokoan Future Land Use Strategy. He also coordinates the statutory environmental assessment and planning processes for the project.

Paul has 15 years experience in natural resource management across several states and territories in Australia, focusing on the management of water, rivers and wetlands. He has worked along the Murray and Darling Rivers developing initiatives to rehabilitate wetlands and manage environmental flows. Paul has several years experience preparing and reviewing environmental impact assessment documentation.

Geordie McKinlay, Project Manager, Goulburn-Murray Water.

Geordie McKinlayBachelor of Civil Engineering 1996.

Geordie has 10 years experience in the rural water industry in northern Victoria with a particular focus on asset management and design and construction of infrastructure works. He operates as senior project manager for the Asset and Technical Services Group in Kerang providing high level engineering support to the multi-faceted operations of the Torrumbarry and Pyramid-Boort Irrigation Areas.

He has undertaken large scale infrastructure replacement works such as managing the construction of the Woorinen Pipeline project, Nyah Pipeline Works, Koondrook Weir and Cohuna Weir.
Sandra Neivandt, Project Communications Officer, Goulburn-Murray Water.

Sandra NeivandtGraduate Certificate of Business (Executive Administration)

A member of the Mid-Murray Storage Project Team from Goulburn-Murray Water, Sandra's role is to co-ordinate communications for the project. Sandra also provides assistance to the Project Manager.

Sandra has a long history and experience in community consultation and communication having worked on a number of the salinity management plans, working with community working groups and landholders.
